History Of Da Lat
The history of Da Lat began in 1893, when Dr. Alexandre Yersin, a French scientist, first discovered the Lam Vien plateau, where Da Lat is today. He suggested that the French government build a resort for the French in Indochina here, as the climate here is similar to Europe.
From 1916, Da Lat was officially established and developed into a model city, with many unique and luxurious architectural works. During the war period, Da Lat also witnessed many historical upheavals, such as the negotiations between the Việt Minh and France at the First Palace in 1954, or the coup against Ngo Dinh Diem in 1963. After 1975, Da Lat continued to develop and became one of the first-class cities in Vietnam.
