Hoi An is an ancient city located in Quang Nam province, Central Vietnam. Hoi An has a favorable geographical location, situated on the north bank of the lower Thu Bon River, about 30 km southeast of Da Nang city, about 122 km from Hue city, about 795 km from Hanoi capital, and about 940 km from Ho Chi Minh City. Hoi An has a natural area of 63.55 km², including the ancient town of Hoi An and the Cham Islands.

Hoi An belongs to the tropical monsoon climate region of Southern Hai Van, characterized by the coastal climate of Central Vietnam, hot and humid, with a lot of seasonal rainfall, high temperatures, plenty of sunshine, and little affected by the winter monsoon. According to statistical data, the average annual temperature in Hoi An is 25.6°C, the highest temperature is 38.7°C, and the lowest temperature is 13.4°C. The average annual rainfall is 2,066 mm, the month with the most rainfall is October, and the month with the least rainfall is February. The average annual humidity is 82%, the highest humidity is 86%, and the lowest humidity is 77%. The average number of sunny days per year is 215 days, and the average number of sunny hours per year is 1,821 hours.

Due to the influence of the monsoon, Hoi An has two distinct seasons: the dry season from February to July, and the rainy season from August to January. The dry season has hot, dry weather, occasionally with Lao winds blowing over, with average temperatures ranging from 28°C to 35°C. The rainy season has cool, wet weather, often with rainstorms, with average temperatures ranging from 22°C to 27°C. The best time to visit Hoi An is from February to April, when the weather is beautiful, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the festivals are unique.
