Ho Chi Minh Museum (Hanoi, Vietnam)

The Ho Chi Minh Museum is a must-visit destination when visiting Hanoi. It is the largest and most modern museum in Vietnam, focusing mainly on displaying artifacts and documents about the life and person of Ho Chi Minh. The museum is located at 19 Ngoc Ha Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City, behind the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and next to Bach Thao Park.

The Ho Chi Minh Museum was built in 1985 and inaugurated in 1990, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth. The museum has an area of 18,000 m2, including 8 floors, of which 3 floors are for regular display and 5 floors are for special display.

The museum has more than 2,000 artifacts, documents, images, maps, paintings, documentary films, sound, light, models, diagrams, charts… related to the life and revolutionary activities of President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people.

The Ho Chi Minh Museum is divided into 8 main parts, in chronological order and content of the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh.

  • Part 1: The origin and childhood of President Ho Chi Minh (1890 – 1911)
  • Part 2: President Ho Chi Minh seeks ways to save the country (1911 – 1920)
  • Part 3: President Ho Chi Minh and the formation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (1920 – 1930)
  • Part 4: President Ho Chi Minh leads the resistance war against French colonialism (1930 – 1954)
  • Part 5: President Ho Chi Minh leads the construction and defense of the country (1954 – 1969)
  • Part 6: President Ho Chi Minh – a friend of the nations of the world
  • Part 7: President Ho Chi Minh – the enlightener of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style
  • Part 8: President Ho Chi Minh – the one who lives forever in the hearts of the nation and mankind

The Ho Chi Minh Museum is not only a place to preserve the cultural and historical heritage of the Vietnamese nation, but also a place to propagate and educate the masses about the career, thought, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh.
