Geographical location

Ho Chi Minh City is located in the South of Vietnam, specifically in the transition region between the Southeast and the Southwest. The city has an area of over 2,000 km2 and a population of nearly 9 million people, divided into 19 districts and 5 districts. The city is conveniently located for exchanges with neighboring provinces and countries in Southeast Asia, as it has road, water, and air routes. The city is also Vietnam’s international gateway, with Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Saigon Seaport, and river ports on the Saigon and Dong Nai rivers.

Weather and climate

Ho Chi Minh City is in the equatorial monsoon tropical climate zone, with high and stable temperatures all year round, averaging 27.5 degrees Celsius. The city only has two distinct seasons, the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season lasts from May to November, with an average annual rainfall of over 1,900 mm. The rainy season often has quick and fierce showers, but also beautiful sunny days. The dry season lasts from December to April, with high temperatures and little rain. The dry season often has cold spells due to the influence of cold air from the North. In addition, the city can also be affected by tropical storms from the East Sea during the rainy season.
