The museum was built on an area of 1,875m2, consisting of 3 floors with a total exhibition area of 1,185.5m2, currently preserving and displaying more than 1,000 modern artworks and folk art objects and traditional handicraft products. The first floor of the museum is the lobby space, where to welcome and provide information to visitors about the tour itinerary. There is also a huge copper relief with the theme of the development process of Da Nang and regional fine arts. The first floor is also the place to organize short-term thematic exhibitions with many diverse and creative themes, contents, and display forms. Especially, the first floor also has a space to display and explore art for children, where they can enjoy award-winning children’s art works in competitions, as well as participate in fun, learning, and creative art activities.
The second floor of the museum is a place to introduce modern art of Da Nang, the region, and the whole country, including lacquer works, oil paintings, silk, graphics, and sculptures. The works here depict diverse topics, from life, nature, history, culture to revolutionary struggle, reflecting the views, emotions, and souls of artists. The second floor is also the place to display works of famous artists such as Le Ba Dang, Nguyen Sang, Tran Van Can, To Ngoc Van, Nguyen Gia Tri, and many other artists.
The third floor of the museum is a place to display folk art objects and traditional handicraft products of Da Nang and the Central – Highlands region. The objects here include various types of ceramics, bronze, iron, wood, brocade, jewelry, worshiping objects, and various types of folk toys. The objects here not only have high aesthetic value, but also reflect the cultural beauty, beliefs, customs, and life of the fraternal ethnic groups in Vietnam.
