Nam O Reef has an area of about 4 hectares, is about 2 km long, and is 50-100 m wide. Nam O Reef was formed millions of years ago, due to the growth of hard and soft corals. Nam O Reef consists of two parts: Ran Ca and Ran Con. Ran Ca has jagged rocks, stretching over about 300 m and 50 m wide. Ran Con has round, smooth rocks, creating strange and beautiful shapes. Both parts are covered by a layer of lush green moss, creating a characteristic deep green color for Nam O Reef.
