Tri Nguyen Aquarium was built in 1971 by Mr. Le Can – a local fisherman who loves nature and has an aesthetic mind. Initially, the aquarium was just a miniature marine museum with 3 compartments for fish farming: ornamental fish, predatory fish, and meat fish. After the government took over and handed it over to the tourism development unit, the aquarium was expanded and upgraded with more forms.
Currently, Tri Nguyen Aquarium has an area of about 5,000m2, including 3 main areas: the open-air fish pond, the upper garden, and the open-air aquarium. Here, you will admire more than 200 species of marine creatures, from beautiful fish such as tuna, seahorse, clownfish, stingray, shark, dolphin, to sea turtles, jellyfish, coral, sea urchin, sea lion, and many other species.
The open-air fish pond is where you can experience touching the turtle’s head and feeding the turtle, or watching giant sea bass and Amazon river monsters. The upper garden is where you can visit the colorful architectural park, or participate in Vietnamese and Cham folk activities such as flag dancing, festival drumming, Cham dancing, sap dancing, watching folk circus and dancing with artists or local fishermen. The open-air aquarium is where you can explore the aquarium in the famous fossil ship, with mysterious stories and mysteries of the ocean.
