Hue is the provincial capital of Thua Thien Hue province, located at coordinates 16°27′49″N 107°35′05″E, along the coast near the southern end of the North Central region, on the central strip of Vietnam. The city has an area of 265.99 km², and the population in 2020 was 652,572 people.
