To get to Phu Quoc, you can choose various means of transportation, depending on your needs, time, and budget. In this article, I will introduce you to 5 convenient ways to get to Phu Quoc for tourists.

By plane

This is the fastest and most convenient way to get to Phu Quoc. Currently, many airlines operate direct flights from major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, Hai Phong… to Phu Quoc International Airport. The flight time ranges from 1 to 2 hours, depending on the departure point. The airfare ranges from 1.2 million to 3.5 million VND for a round-trip ticket, depending on the airline and the tourist season. You can book air tickets online or through reputable air ticket agents.

By bus – ferry

This is the most economical way and suitable for those who like to experience road and water travel. You can take a bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Gia or Ha Tien, then take a ferry or hydrofoil to Phu Quoc. The travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Gia is about 6 hours, to Ha Tien is about 8 hours. The ferry time from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc is about 2.5 hours, from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc is about 1.5 hours. The hydrofoil time from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc is about 1.5 hours, from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc is about 1 hour. The bus fare ranges from 150,000 to 200,000 VND one way. The ferry fare ranges from 230,000 to 330,000 VND one way. The hydrofoil fare ranges from 350,000 to 500,000 VND one way.

By motorbike

This is an interesting and adventurous way for those who like to explore and be free. You can ride a motorbike from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Gia or Ha Tien, then put the motorbike on the ferry to Phu Quoc. The travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Gia or Ha Tien is similar to taking a bus. The ferry fare for motorbikes ranges from 150,000 to 200,000 VND one way. Note that you need to have a motorbike driving license and valid vehicle papers. You also need to prepare full repair tools, drinking water, food, and medicine when riding a motorbike.

By car

This is a safe and comfortable way for those who go in groups or families. You can drive a car from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Gia or Ha Tien, then put the car on the ferry to Phu Quoc. The travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Gia or Ha Tien is similar to taking a bus. The ferry fare for cars ranges from 700,000 to 1,000,000 VND one way. Note that you need to have a car driving license and valid vehicle papers. You also need to book ferry tickets for cars in advance and arrive at the port early to queue.

By boat to visit islands

This is a unique and interesting way for those who want to explore many small islands around Phu Quoc You can rent a boat or canoe from the piers in Phu Quoc to visit islands such as Hon Mong Tay, Hon May Rut, Hon Gam Ghi, Hon Thom… You will enjoy the beautiful natural scenery, swimming, diving, fishing, and enjoying fresh seafood. The boat or canoe rental price ranges from 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 VND a day, depending on the type of boat and the number of people.
