Linh Ung Pagoda (Da Nang city, Vietnam)

Linh Ung Pagoda is a tourist destination with majestic natural beauty and high spiritual cultural value. It is one of the three pagodas named Linh Ung in Da Nang, built on the prime locations of the city, forming a “sacred triangle” in the heart of the city. In this article, I will introduce you to Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda, located on Son Tra Peninsula, which is the largest, newest, and most beautiful of the three pagodas.

Location and history of Linh Ung Bai But

Pagoda Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda is located on Son Tra Peninsula, about 10 km from the center of Da Nang city. The pagoda leans against the mountain, facing the East Sea, surrounded by Cu Lao Cham Island, far away is the wonderful scenery of Hai Van Pass.

Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda was built in 2004, presided over by Superior Monk Thich Thien Nguyen. After 6 years of construction, the pagoda was inaugurated and put into operation. To this day, the pagoda continues to build many new items, but has become one of the most famous spiritual tourist destinations in Da Nang.

The tallest Guanyin statue in Vietnam

The highlight of Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda is the tallest Guanyin statue in Vietnam, with a height of 67 m, a base diameter of 35 m. The Buddha statue is placed on a 35 m high lotus pedestal, inside there are 17 floors, each floor has 21 small Buddha statues.

The Guanyin statue is designed in a modern style, with a graceful face, eyes looking down on the mundane, the right hand raised, the left hand holding a water bottle. The Buddha statue is painted white, creating a highlight on the green background of the forest and the sea. The Buddha statue is also a symbol of compassion, helping visitors feel peaceful and happy when visiting the pagoda.

Other architectural works of Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda

In addition to the Guanyin statue, Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda also has many beautiful and meaningful architectural works, such as the triple gate, the great palace, the stupa, the great bell, the bonsai, the flower garden… The architectural works are built in a modern style combined with the traditional architecture of Vietnamese pagodas, creating a sacred, solemn space, rich in Buddhist culture.
