Hoang Su Phi (Ha Giang, Vietnam)

Did you know that in Ha Giang there is a district located in the west of the province, with a terrain mainly of hills on the upper reaches of the Chay River? That is Hoang Su Phi, where there are terraced fields dyed bright yellow, a beautiful symbol of Hà Giang tourism. But Hoang Su Phi not only has long stretches of terraced fields, but the natural landscape here is also very diverse, creating a colorful picture. To get to Hoang Su Phi, you have to travel 80 km from the center of Ha Giang city. You can take a bus, use personal vehicles or rent a motorbike from Ha Giang city. The road is quite steep and dangerous, but also very beautiful and poetic, you will be able to admire the rice fields, the stilt houses, the streams, the buckwheat flower hills…

When coming to Hoang Su Phi, you cannot miss famous landmarks such as: Ban Phung terraced fields – where there are the most beautiful terraced fields in Ha Giang; Ho Thau terraced fields – where there are majestic and poetic landscapes; Buckwheat flowers – where there are characteristic flowers of the highlands; Tay Con Linh – where there is the highest mountain peak in Ha Giang; Chieu Lau Thi – where there is early sunshine on the mountain peak; Nam Hong village, Thong Nguyen – where there are unique stilt houses; Hoang Su Phi market – where there is cultural exchange of ethnic groups; Ancient tomb area of the La Chi people – where there are historical relics; Po Lung Post – where there are marks of the resistance war against the French; Suoi Thau Temple – where there is a national cultural relic; Vinh Quang Temple – where there is a provincial cultural relic… and many other places.

When coming to Hoang Su Phi, you should also enjoy delicious dishes and specialties of this place, such as: Thắng cố – a traditional dish of the H’mong people; Smoked buffalo meat – a special dish of the Tay people; La Chi rat meat – a unique dish of the La Chi people; Au Tau porridge – a nutritious dish of the Dao people; Nang Don sticky rice wine – a famous wine of the Nung people; Fin Ho snow shan tea – a rare tea of the Dao people; Red plums of Hoang Su Phi – a delicious and cool fruit of the Tay people… and many other dishes.
